19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's initial title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a third set.

The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
